Estudi Guillem Marc.

Case study

Editorial landing for a creative studio. Studio with no previous website. A first online presence with custom editorial design, portfolio manageable from inside and Lighthouse 97+ that communicates the studio's level from the first scroll.

Editorial landing with custom portfolio, delivered in 2025.

The brief

A creative studio with no website of its own. All lead capture came from Instagram, LinkedIn and referrals.

Estudi Guillem Marc works for clients who pay well for differentiation: editorial and brand design. It worked, but a digital piece was missing to communicate the studio's method to anyone landing from a search. The brief was clear: a landing that worked as one more piece of the portfolio, not a website that introduced the studio.

  1. 01

    Editorial design, not template

Careful typography, page rhythm and calculated spacing. No pre-built mosaics or effects that don't add value.

    Design
  2. 02

    Hand-coded, not templated

Portfolio laid out in code, not a portfolio theme or a Behance grid. The design belongs to the studio, not to a template shared by thousands.

    Code
  3. 03

    Native Catalan and Spanish

Catalan for the territory where the studio works. Spanish for mainland clients. Real languages, not automatic translation.

    Multi-language

The whole studio ordered in a single scroll.

Four layers holding the editorial design.

Editorial design doesn't hold on good taste alone. Behind it there are typography, management and performance decisions that make the page still useful and fast a year later, without touching code again.

Project architecture in 4 layers
  1. 01

    Editorial type system.

Editorial serif for titles, neutral sans for body. Visual hierarchy by size and weight, not by noisy colour. Spacing calibrated for desktop and legible on mobile.

    • Serif + sans
    • Hierarchy by weight
    • Vertical rhythm
    • Mobile legible
  2. 02

    Hand-coded, no template.

Each project laid out by hand in code, with its own hierarchy and its own rhythm. No portfolio themes or generic grids: the design belongs to the studio, not to a template shared by thousands.

    • Hand-coded
    • No template
    • Unique design
    • Editorial
  3. 03

    Performance without compromise.

Every decorative element evaluated for its cost: added KB, LCP delay, render blocking. What doesn't add value gets removed. Result: 97/100 mobile in production without touching the editorial design.

    • Lighthouse 97/100
    • LCP < 2 s
    • 0 CLS
    • Local fonts
  4. 04

    Structural Catalan and Spanish.

Catalan as the studio's main language, Spanish for mainland clients. Separate URLs, correct hreflang, content translated by hand. No strange parameters, no Google Translate.

    • Correct hreflang

    • 2 real languages
